Gold Spike Percussion traces it’s roots clear back to 2004 and the founding of Thenami Winter Drumline. The name of that ensemble was later changed to Junction City Hybrid when it expanded from a collection of area high school students to serve the entire Wasatch Front area. As an independent ensemble, J.C.H. cemented it's reputation as one of the premier percussion ensembles in Utah before joining forces with the Weber State University Marching Band to become Weber State Indoor Percussion.

For seven years, Weber State Indoor Percussion served Northern Utah; competing locally, regionally, and nationally. With Weber State’s support and backing the ensemble saw yet another renaissance, drawing performers from across the Intermountain West to come together and create memorable, entertaining productions.

In the summer of 2018, when Weber State University ceased operating it’s competitive marching programs, Performing Arts Weber launched Gold Spike Percussion and Gold Spike Wintergaurd to take the heritage and history of indoor performing arts in Weber County and ensure that the activity was accessible and successful long into the future. We’re proud of the heritage our community holds, and look forward to many more years serving that community.

Gold Spike Percussion competes locally at Intermountain Percussion Association events and nationally at Winter Guard International events.
